WiMAX (World Interoperability for Microwave Access) is an access point based wireless service that some cellular carriers are considering offering to provide high speed internet access to users. It is being called a "4G" technology due to it's speed. It does not use the same frequencies as cellular services such as CDMA and GSM. Currently no Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone supports WiMAX. |
